H.J VandeRiet

H.J wrote her first book called “Adventures to Pike’s Peak” when she was nine years old, and has been writing in some form ever since. She loves stories with strong, relatable, and flawed characters. She loves stories that both help people escape, and allows them to think critically about the world.

She has a Masters degree in Writing, and has also published a few poems in various small presses, both online and in print.

Otherside: The Serenity is H.J VandeRiet’s first full-length novel to be published.

She currently resides in Northern California, and is originally from Colorado. The mountains and the beach are in a competition for her heart. When she’s not writing, she’s raising her four kids, and just generally trying to make it through this thing called life.
